CrossFit Chatswood provides a fun, safe and challenging environment to pursue your individual fitness goals. Our coaches are certified trainers who specialise in delivering the CrossFit methodology. They bring state-of-the-art coaching techniques to the general public and athletes who don't have access to current technologies, research and coaching methods.

For our coaches, CrossFit is a way of life and a passion. Having personal experience in the CrossFit style of training they lead by example and enthusiastically pass their knowledge onto our clients. We wish to educate and improve your general health and wellbeing through continued support, education on training methods and nutrition.

How did you come across CrossFit? I’ve always trained but a good mate started doing CrossFit to become a fire fighter, he said it was awesome so I started it too…haven’t looked back!

What is the best thing about your job as a CrossFit Chatswood coach? As a Coach I get to see people develop and improve their overall health and fitness but there is much more to it than that. No matter where they start I can see huge changes in other areas of their life such as self-esteem, confidence and mental resilience.

CrossFit has changed me in so many ways for the better it is great to give people the opportunity to do the same with theirs.

Your favourite cheat meal is? And would you rather give up CrossFit or that cheat meal? Chocolate ice cream or chocolate milk. Yes (not sure I should say that)

How has CF chanced your life? Stronger physically, mentally, more attuned with my body and performing at my optimal level in a variety of areas in life.

Your secret ninja exercise/movement is? Swimming!

If you had to make a choice for the following what would they be:

Be able to stop time or be able to travel through time? Stop - I like to live in the now…

Travel 200 years in the past or 200 years to the future? Back…I’d make some substantial sure bets and be able to do everything in the next question!

All the money in the world or all the time in the world? All the time…so many things to see places to visit experiences in life to be had I would do them all!

How did you come across CrossFit? I was doing a lot of training in the park with mates and a friend of mine from the army was telling me about this new style of training they were doing. I looked into it, researched it and dabbled in my garage for eight months. I finally bit the bullet and signed up to my local CrossFit box and it has changed my life in nearly every way.

What is the best thing about your job as a CrossFit Chatswood coach? By far seeing the look on people’s faces when they achieve something that they thought was impossible prior to CrossFit. Second would be experiencing the same thing for myself.

Favourite WOD: They all are my favourites, it wouldn’t be fair to just pick one.

Least favoured WOD: They all are my least favourite, it wouldn’t be fair to just pick one.

Your favourite cheat meal is? And would you rather give up CrossFit or that cheat meal? Mr Whippy Ice cream with one Flake and dipped in chocolate. If I had to choose I would drop that ice cream in a second and head straight to the Box.

How has CF changed your life? CrossFit has given me so much more than I could possibly write here. It has made me a better husband and dad, given me lifelong friends. It has also given me a reason to go to bed early, wake up early and eat properly.

If you had to make a choice for the following what would they be:

Be able to stop time or be able to travel through time? Be able to stop time, without a doubt. Every moment needs to be appreciated and if you spend too long mucking around in the past or future you’ll miss out on now.

Travel 200 years in the past or 200 years to the future 200 years in the past? Things seemed so much simpler back then. No one ever looked like they were in a hurry or worried about anything. And, if I keep doing CrossFit I’ll probably live for another 200 years and be able to see the future then anyway.

All the money in the world or all the time in the world? All the time. Whenever I’m doing something I love, time always goes way too fast and no matter how much money you have it won’t fix that.

How did you come across CrossFit? Bumped into a good mate when he was first starting up his gym, did a session and was instantly hooked. Was the perfect sport to transition into after rugby league.

What is the best thing about your job as a CrossFit Chatswood coach? Being able to help people achieve their goals whether it be training, sport or health related. I get satisfaction out of seeing this which inspires me to be a better coach/mentor.

Your favourite cheat meal is? And would you rather give up CrossFit or that cheat meal? It would have to be Ben and Jerry’s or a good pizza. Wouldn’t give up either, life is all about balance.

How has CF changed your life? CrossFit has kept that competition factor in my life after playing team sport for so many years. It has also greatly improved my all-round strength, conditioning and mobility.

Your secret ninja exercise/movement is? Tricep extensions.

If you had to make a choice for the following what would they be:

Be able to stop time or be able to travel through time? Stop time so I live longer haha

Travel 200 years in the past or 200 years to the future? 200 yrs in the future, as I’d love to see what technology is around then.

All the money in the world or all the time in the world? Certainly all the money in the world which would give me all the time in the world.

How did you come across CrossFit? Was introduced by a mate back in 2009 and have been hooked ever since.

What is the best thing about your job as a CrossFit Chatswood coach? Seeing people achieve, grow and develop into athletes. Also, the impact it has on people’s everyday lives, including the relationships people develop and general well being.

Favourite WOD: Anything heavy. Life is too short to be small!

Least favoured WOD: Long WODs that include running and burpees

Your favourite cheat meal is? And would you rather give up CrossFit or that cheat meal? 6 pack of beer and a whole BBQ chicken. I’ll think about it…

How has CF changed your life? The various attributes of CrossFit have transferred into my everyday life and have made me a better person.

Your secret ninja exercise/movement is? Bicep curls. But don’t tell anyone!

If you had to make a choice for the following what would they be:

Be able to stop time or be able to travel through time? Travel through time and check out all the cool things!

Travel 200 years in the past or 200 years to the future? Travel 200 years in the past and introduce them to CrossFit!

All the money in the world or all the time in the world? All the money in the world. Whoever said money doesn’t buy you happiness is just lying.

How did you come across CrossFit? I use to do a lot of obstacle course races (tough mudder, etc.) and did boot camp training however when that fell through I needed something else. I decided to give CrossFit a try for a month with no expectations. LOVED it from the moment I started and have trained every day possible since.

What is the best thing about your job as a CrossFit Chatswood coach? Seeing people break past what was once not possible and motivating them to look even further ahead.

Favourite WOD: I like long workouts where I can just keep grinding away (e.g Seven, Cindy, Jack).

Least favoured WOD: Anything really short, heavy, or involving farmers carries!

Your favourite cheat meal is? And would you rather give up CrossFit or that cheat meal? My cheat meal would be pasta / burger, sharing a bottle of Shiraz, followed by a generous serving of ice cream. Would I give up CrossFit? I don't like thinking about that situation.

How has CF changed your life? CrossFit has completely changed my perception of what fit and healthy is. It has taught me how simple decisions around nutrition, exercise, and lifestyle can transform anyone.

Your secret ninja exercise/movement is? Rowing
